Rohit Kirana has been part of Naveen Nagar for a while now. We are located at Shop No-2, right near Chankyapuri Square in Bhopal. It is a lively area, and being at the square means there is always a lot of noise and people moving about. Our shop is where locals come when they run out of salt or need some fresh soap. We keep things pretty simple here. The walls are lined with bags of grain and rows of household goods. It isn’t a polished place with bright lights; it’s just a neighborhood store where the floor might be a little uneven and the shelves are a bit old. I spend a lot of time checking the list of what we need to order for the next week. Sometimes I forget a few things, but the customers are usually patient about it. We don't have a big team or anything, just a couple of us handling the counter and the bags. Bhopal can get really hot in the summer, so the shop feels a bit stuffy, but we keep the door open for a breeze. People stop by to chat about the local news or just to rest for a second while they wait for their order to be packed. We try to be helpful and give everyone their change correctly. It’s a basic way of living, and we are happy to be a part of this community. We close up when it gets dark outside and the streetlights come on.
