Rainbow Medical & General Store

Our place is Rainbow Medical & General Store and you can find us in Arera Colony, Bhopal. The address is E-4/94, right across the road from the flower shop. It’s a handy location because people often stop here after visiting the doctors nearby. We carry a bit of everything, from medicines to daily groceries. It’s a strange mix sometimes, having bandages on one shelf and bags of chips on the other, but that’s what people ask for. The shop gets quite a lot of light in the mornings. I try to keep the medicine section very tidy so I can find what people need quickly. The general items like soaps and biscuits are a bit more scattered. The smell of flowers from across the street is nice when the breeze blows into the shop. Sometimes I have to really focus to read the scribbled notes people bring in for their supplies. It’s a lot of work making sure we have the right stock for everyone. The floor is made of old tiles and I mop it every morning to keep the dust down. It’s a steady routine. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, and we just have to wait it out in the dark or use a small torch. The people around Arera Colony are mostly regulars we’ve known for a long time. We’ve been here at E-4/94 for a good while now and it’s a decent way to earn a living.
