Q.K Pan Merchant

I’ve been running this shop for a long time now. It’s located at Shop No.1 on Station Road, right in the middle of Jumerati Bazar. If you know Hanumanganj, you know it gets pretty crowded around here. We’re quite close to the Nadra Bus Stand, so there’s always people rushing past with bags or looking for directions. It’s a small space, really just enough for the counter and the supplies we keep on the back shelves. Most days it’s just me here. I start early because the buses start running and people want their pan or a quick smoke before they head out. The air is always full of exhaust and the sound of horns, but you get used to it after a year or two. There isn’t much to the place, just some old wooden cabinets and a fan that squeaks when it’s on high. I don’t bother much with decorations or anything like that. People come here because they know I’m open and I have what they need. Sometimes the rain gets under the awning and we have to move everything back, but that’s just how it goes in this part of town. It’s a living. I see the same faces every morning and some new ones who are just passing through the station. It’s not a big business, just a small shop in a busy spot where things move fast and the tea is usually hot across the street.
