Yupflowers

You can find us at 23 Peer Gate, which is a very busy part of town. Yupflowers is a small shop, but it is always full of color. Every single morning, we get a delivery of fresh flowers, and the first thing we do is start cutting the stems and putting them into buckets of water. The floor often stays a bit wet and messy with leaves and stems, but that is just part of the job. It’s a very small space, so we have to be organized to fit everything in. We don’t have a fancy refrigerated display or anything like that. We just use large plastic buckets and keep them in the coolest part of the shop. There are usually just two of us here working. We spend the whole day making simple bouquets and talking to people who pass by on the street. Peer Gate is always noisy with people and scooters, so it is a very lively place to be. We don’t do any big marketing or have a fancy website. People just see the flowers when they are walking past and stop in if they need something. Sometimes the weather is too hot and the flowers don't stay fresh for long, which is always a bit of a worry. We just do our best to take care of what we have. It is a simple, nice way to spend the day.
