Noor Kirana

Noor Kirana has been sitting here by Kamla Park in Bhopal for quite some time now. We handle the daily stuff people need for their cooking and house cleaning. Shamla Hills is a quiet enough area but our shop gets its fair share of noise from the main road. Most days start early for us, moving boxes around and making sure the grains are stored properly so they do not spoil. It is just a local spot where you can grab a quick packet of tea or some spices without having to go to a big supermarket. The space inside is a bit tight because we try to fit a lot of items onto the wooden racks. Sometimes the light in the back flickers, but we manage. People come in to chat as much as they do to shop, which makes the hours go by faster. We are not trying to be anything other than a simple neighborhood store. If we do not have something, we usually tell the customer when the next delivery is coming. It is a family-run thing, so someone is always around to help carry a heavy bag to a customer’s scooter. The floor needs a lot of sweeping because of the dust from outside. We just stay focused on keeping the essentials in stock for the families living nearby. It is a basic life, running a shop like this, but it works for us and our neighbors.
