Amer Greens

Amer Greens is located right near the Gyan Ganga School over in Ratanpur. If you are looking for our place, you will probably see a lot of green before you see the sign. We spend our days digging in the dirt and moving plants around from one spot to another. It is dusty work and my boots are always covered in soil by the end of the day. Ratanpur is a quiet place which is actually pretty good for what we do. We grow things and look after trees and shrubs. Some days it gets very hot outside and we have to water everything twice just to keep them from wilting. Other days, when it rains, we just sit back and watch the puddles form. We don't have one of those big corporate offices with glass walls and carpets. We just have a simple space where we keep our tools and bags of seeds. Sometimes the school kids walk past our gate and wave at us. We like being part of the community here. It takes a lot of patience to watch a garden grow. You can't really rush nature no matter how much you might want to. We have a few guys who have been with us since we started. They know exactly which plants like the sun and which ones need to stay in the shade. We just do our best to keep things alive.
