Jai Prakash Dist Hospital

Being a district hospital in Tulsi Nagar means there is never a quiet moment. It’s a big building, and honestly, the hallways can feel like a bit of a maze if you aren't used to them. We’ve got people coming in from all over the district, not just the immediate neighborhood in Tulsi Nagar. The benches in the waiting area are almost always full, especially in the rainy season when everyone seems to catch something. Our staff is always on the move, carrying clipboards or pushing carts. It’s a government-run feel, very functional and no-frills. The paint is peeling in some corners, and the windows could use a good wash, but the equipment in the rooms is what really matters. We deal with everything from minor cuts to more serious stuff that requires a stay for a few nights. The night shift is probably the strangest time, with the dim lights and the distant sound of someone coughing. We try to keep things organized, but with so many patients, it’s a constant struggle to stay on top of the queue. People wait their turn, sometimes for hours, drinking tea from the stall outside. It isn’t a place you come to for comfort, but it’s where you go when you need help and you live in this part of town. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing every single day to keep the hospital running for the public.
