International Institute Of Fashion Technology

Our place, the International Institute Of Fashion Technology, is over in M P Nagar, specifically Zone-2 at 131/11. We are on the first floor, right across from the Time Institute. It’s a busy part of Bhopal, so there is always something going on outside our windows. Inside, it’s mostly about fabrics, sketches, and sewing machines. We’ve got a lot of students coming in and out at different times of the day, all trying to figure out how to put a garment together or draw a decent design. It’s a hands-on kind of environment. We don’t really go for the high-end corporate look because fashion is messy work when you’re actually doing it. There are threads on the floor and patterns pinned up on the walls. We just teach what we know about the industry and how to make things look good. It’s not about being glamorous every day; it’s about the hard work of learning the craft. Being in Bhopal, we see a lot of local styles mixed with newer ideas. People come here because they want to create something with their hands. We keep the atmosphere pretty relaxed and informal. You can usually find us helping someone with a tricky seam or talking about color choices. It’s just a school where people learn a trade. We’ve been at this address for a while now and it feels like home to us. It’s a busy life but we enjoy the work.
