Dr. Syed Waseem Akhtar

The clinic is located in Shareef Arcade, which is over in the Budhwara area of Bhopal. Dr. Syed Waseem Akhtar has been seeing people here for quite a while. It is a busy part of the city, so there is always a lot of traffic and noise outside the windows. The building itself, Shareef Arcade, is well-known to the locals. Inside, the clinic is pretty straightforward. We have a waiting area with some old magazines and a few chairs that have seen better days. It is not a fancy hospital with glass walls. It is just a place where people come when they are not feeling well. We see all kinds of people from around Madhya Pradesh. Some come for a quick checkup, others have been coming for years and we know their whole family history. The walls are painted a simple off-white and there are some charts about health on them. Sometimes the waiting room gets really crowded, especially in the evenings after work. We try to get through the list of patients as steady as we can. There is a small desk for the helper who handles the appointments. Most people just walk in though. Bhopal has its own pace, and we try to keep up with it. It’s honest work, helping folks get back on their feet. We don’t do much advertising. People mostly just tell their neighbors about our practice.
