Bhagvan Kirana is tucked away in Subhash Market, which is part of the Subhash Nagar area in Bhopal. We are at Shop No-8. This area is often referred to as Security Line. It’s a traditional market where everyone knows everyone else. I’ve been sitting in this shop for years, watching the market change. We sell all the basic kirana items—various dals, rice, wheat flour, and spices. We also keep the small things like matchboxes, candles, and soaps. Subhash Market is a place where people come to do their proper weekly shopping, so we often sell things in larger quantities. The shop is usually a bit dusty because of the constant movement in the market, but we try our best to keep it clean. I don't use a lot of fancy technology here; a simple scale and a calculator are enough for most days. The Security Line area has a lot of families who have lived here for generations. They come to us because they know we have what they need for their kitchens. Sometimes the narrow lanes of Subhash Nagar make it hard for delivery trucks to get in, so we have to carry sacks by hand from the main road. It’s hard work, but it’s part of the job. We don't make big promises or use fancy words. We just open the doors every day and sell groceries to our neighbors. It’s a steady, predictable life in the heart of the market.
