Akiriti Export Agencies is based in Office 1-2, right across from the Masjid Nastarbano on Ghoda Nakkas Road. It’s a very old part of the city, and the road is almost always full of people, carts, and motorcycles. Our office is a bit of a climb, and once you’re inside, you’ll see lots of ledgers and stacks of export papers. We spend a lot of time on the phone or checking through shipping lists. Being right across from the masjid means we hear the calls to prayer throughout the day, which gives the place a certain rhythm. It’s not a modern, glass-walled office. It’s got old fans that creak a bit and wooden desks that have seen better days. We’ve been handling exports from here for a long time. The traffic on Ghoda Nakkas Road can be a nightmare, so we usually just stay put once we arrive in the morning. We don’t have any slick marketing materials. Most people who work with us have been doing so for years. It’s a lot of paperwork and waiting for confirmations from different ports. Sometimes things get delayed and we have to spend the afternoon tracking down where a crate went. It’s just the nature of the agency business. We keep it simple and focus on the documents in front of us. It’s a busy, noisy, and very real place to work every day.
