Akash Traders

We are located in Saulat Manzil, which is right in the heart of the Old City at shop number 77. This area is full of history and narrow lanes where you can barely fit a bike. Working at Akash Traders means dealing with all sorts of people who come through these alleys looking for stuff. The shop is small and packed with different items we trade. We don't really have a fancy system for organizing; we just know where everything is tucked away. Sometimes it takes a minute to find a specific item because it’s buried under something else. The walls are painted a dull blue that’s starting to peel, but we don't mind much. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to people about orders and deliveries. The traffic outside is always a mess, especially when the rains start and the streets get muddy. We have a small desk where we do all the paperwork by hand. It’s a very local way of doing things, but it works for us. Usually, there’s a plate of biscuits and some tea on the counter for anyone who drops by for a chat. We’ve known the other shopkeepers in Saulat Manzil for a long time, so it feels like a small community. We open up early and stay until the sun goes down and the street lamps come on. It is just a regular way of life for us here.
