Kidzee

This school is located at House No 464, right on the By Pass Road here in Buxar. It’s an old house that we’ve turned into a space for the neighborhood kids to learn and play. Being on the bypass means it gets a bit dusty outside, but we try to keep the inside tidy. There’s a lot of coming and going throughout the day. We have a small yard where the children spend time when the sun isn't too hot. Most of us here have grown up in Buxar, so we know how things work around here. We aren’t trying to be some big corporate office. We just wanted a place where local parents could drop off their children and know they are being looked after by people they recognize from the market or the street. The rooms are filled with charts we stuck up ourselves and boxes of building blocks that have seen better days. Every morning starts with some singing and then we get into the basic stuff like colors and numbers. It isn't always perfect; sometimes a pipe leaks or we run out of snacks, but we handle it. People stop by to ask questions all the time, and we just talk to them plainly. It’s a small operation, and we like it that way. We just keep our heads down and focus on the kids. There's always coffee in the pot if a parent needs to talk.
