Karan Enterprise. You’ll find us in Arah, right on Police Line Road. We’re actually very close to the police station, so it’s easy to find. The shop is a bit of an old building, but it does the job. We sell various supplies that people in this part of town need. I spend my mornings opening up the heavy metal shutters and sweeping the front step. The traffic on Police Line Road gets quite heavy, so there’s always a lot of honking outside. Inside, it’s a bit quieter. We have shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling, and I often have to use a rickety ladder to get things down. It’s just me and one other person most days. We don’t have a fancy website or a digital catalog. We just know what’s in stock by looking at the shelves. Sometimes we sit on the wooden stools out front when business is slow and watch the people go by. It’s a local place. If someone needs something special, we try to get it for them by the next week. The rain sometimes leaks a little near the back door, so we have to keep the boxes away from that spot. It’s not a perfect shop, but it’s ours and we’ve been here for years. We treat everyone who walks in like a neighbor because they usually are. It’s just a regular, honest business trying to keep the community supplied with what they need.
