Out in Bhurtana, in the Tosham tehsil, you’ll find our little setup. It is at the place of Balwant Singh, who is the son of Shri Ram Lal. This is Bhiwani district, so it’s proper rural Haryana. The roads get a bit rough depending on the season, but everyone around here knows the family. We are not doing anything grand. It is just a foundation run from a home base. Being in a village like Bhurtana means everyone knows your business anyway, so we keep things very open and simple. The 127035 area code covers a lot of ground, but we are right there where Balwant Singh lives. It gets quite cold in the winters and the fog settles over the fields, making things move even slower. We do not have a big staff or a marketing team. It’s just us and whoever from the village wants to lend a hand for the day. Sometimes we sit out in the yard and figure out what needs to be done next. There isn't a lot of paperwork or fancy desks. Just a few chairs and the local news on the radio. People stop by after finishing their work in the fields. It’s a basic way of living and a basic way of running a welfare group. We focus on the local people we see every day because those are the ones we actually know and can talk to. It feels more real that way.
