Some are small boxes and others are much bigger items that take two people to lift. We don't have a polished lobby or a receptionist in a uniform. Usually, you will just find one of us sitting at a wooden desk with a pile of manifests. The floor is concrete and there is always a bit of mud from the boots. We have lived in this part of Haryana all our lives. We know the shortcuts and the main roads like the back of our hands. It is a basic way of doing business. We don't use a lot of fancy words or try to impress anyone. We just tell you when your stuff will arrive and we try to stick to that. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook and other times it is silent for an hour. We use that time to sweep up or check the tires on the trucks. It’s just the daily grind for us here in Kaila.
