Rawat Masale

We are based out in Village Nangal. It is a quiet place, quite far from the big cities. To get to us, you have to go through the post office area and head towards the Rampura Railway Station. Being near the station is helpful because we can hear the trains coming and going, which helps us keep track of time during the day. This is a rural spot in the Loharu Tehsil of Bhiwani district. We work with masales here, mostly traditional spices that people use every day in their kitchens. The air around the shop always smells like coriander and cumin. We don't have fancy machinery, just the basic stuff we need to get the spices ground down. Most of the people who work here are from the village or nearby. We know almost everyone who walks past our door. It is a slow pace of life compared to the town, but we like it that way. The seasons change, and so does the type of work we focus on. In the winter, it gets quite cold, so we keep the doors shut tight. In the summer, the heat is something else entirely. We just keep our heads down and keep the grinders running. It is honest work and we have been doing it this way for years now without much change. The cats from the neighborhood often hang around the back door looking for scraps.
