Protek

Protek is tucked away on Ghana Ghar Road, right behind the Addarsh Dharamshala in Gali Number 2. It is a narrow street and sometimes people miss the turn-off because it’s not very well marked from the main road. We’ve been here in this spot for some time now. The building isn't much to look at from the outside but it works for what we need to do. Inside it is usually quite noisy because of the equipment we use for our daily tasks. We deal with a lot of technical things and the floor is usually covered in bits of wire and different tools we forgot to put away. It gets quite hot in the afternoons but we have a couple of old fans that keep the air moving well enough. We aren't really the type for fancy offices or sitting behind desks all day long. Most of the work involves getting our hands dirty and figuring out why things aren't working the way they should. Neighbors stop by sometimes just to say hello or ask for a quick hand with something small. We try to keep things straightforward and don't make a big fuss about the work we do. If you come by, you’ll probably find us in the middle of a project with parts scattered everywhere. It’s a bit of a mess but we know where everything is kept. We just keep our heads down and get through the list of jobs.
