Vijay Timber Merchants

Vijay Timber Merchants is located on Aara Road in Naya Bazar, right near the Uttami Bai School. It’s a busy part of town, especially when the kids are coming or going from school. Our yard is full of different kinds of wood and the smell of sawdust is everywhere. We’ve been here for quite some time, so most of the other shopkeepers in Naya Bazar know us well. We spend our days measuring logs and cutting planks to size. It’s heavy work and it keeps us busy from morning until late. We don't have a fancy showroom. You just walk into the yard and see what we have in stock. Sometimes the wood is stacked high and you have to be careful where you walk. We aren't very big on office work; we prefer being outside with the timber. If you need something specific, you just have to ask and we will see if we have it in the back. The road gets crowded with trucks delivering logs, which can be a bit of a mess sometimes. We just deal with it. It’s a straightforward business. We sell timber to builders or people making furniture. There are no sales pitches here. We just show you the wood, tell you the price, and that’s about it. It’s how we have always done things. We close the gates when it gets dark and start again tomorrow.
