Our place, Dewan Fourwheels Pvt. Ltd., is located on Mohindergarh Road. If you know where the Panchayat Bhawan is, we are right near there. It is a busy stretch of road with plenty of trucks and cars passing by at all hours. We spend a lot of time out in the lot or in the garage area. The ground is often a bit oily, and there is always a car with its hood up. We don't really have a fancy lobby, just a few chairs for people to sit on while they wait. The sun can be quite harsh on this side of the Gidc S.P. Ring Road, so we try to find shade wherever we can. Sometimes we just stand under the big tree near the entrance. Most of the guys here have grease under their fingernails and a rag in their pocket. It is just the nature of the job. We see a lot of the same faces because the neighborhood is quite close-knit. People stop by to ask about their engines or just to complain about the potholes on the road. We listen and do what we can. Lunch is usually a quick affair, eaten sitting on a plastic crate. Then it is back to the cars and the paperwork until the sun starts to go down. We keep a bucket of water near the gate to wash our hands before heading home at the end of the day.
