Lalit Purushottam Dass & Co. has been operating out of Shop No.2 in Kaushik Sadan for quite a while now. Most people around Bhiwani know the Meham Gate Chowk area, it stays pretty busy throughout the day with people coming and going. Our spot is right across from Parveen Gas Service. If you’re coming from that side of the street, you can’t really miss the building. It’s just a regular office where we handle our daily paperwork and meet people who drop by for various things. The morning usually starts with opening up the shutters and getting the desk cleared off from the day before. There’s always noise from the traffic outside at the chowk, but you get used to it after a few weeks of working here. People come in with their documents, we sit down, and we look over what needs to be done. It’s not a fancy place by any means, just some chairs and a few big cupboards for all the files we have to keep. We try to keep things organized but sometimes the papers pile up when it gets really busy during the month. Working in this part of town means seeing the same faces every day, which is nice. Sometimes the neighbors from other shops come by for a quick chat or a cup of tea. It feels like a small community here at the chowk. We just focus on getting the work finished. It is just an honest day's work in a familiar corner of Bhiwani.
