Daksha Women Welfare Foundation

Our foundation is called Daksha Women Welfare Foundation. We are based in VPO-Riwasa, which is part of the Tosham block in the Bhiwani district. Haryana is our home. We work out of a small office here in the village. Most of our day is spent talking to women from the local area. We deal with all sorts of welfare issues. It’s not a corporate environment at all. We have tea together and discuss what needs to be done for the day. Sometimes we meet under the trees if it’s too hot inside the office. The 127040 area is where we grew up, so we know the families around here. We try to be a place where women feel they can come and talk. It’s about welfare, but in a very real, everyday sense. Maybe someone needs help with a government form or advice on a small business. We do what we can. Our office has some files and a few posters on the walls. It’s humble but it serves its purpose. We don’t have a big marketing budget or anything like that. We just rely on people knowing who we are and where to find us in Riwasa. The work keeps us busy from morning until evening. It’s good to be part of the community in Bhiwani. We just take it one day at a time. The local children often run past our window on their way to school.
