Our place is out in Kalher, which is basically a sea of warehouses and industrial compounds. We take up a good chunk of space from A/67 to A/71 in the Osiya Mata Compound. It’s located right on Reti Bunder Road in Bhiwandi. If you’ve ever been out this way, you know it’s all about the trucks and the dust. The roads can be pretty rough, especially after it rains, but this is where the action is. Our units are mostly functional. We’ve got high ceilings and lots of floor space for all the stuff we handle. It gets pretty hot during the summer months, so we have a few big fans blowing all the time. The office part is just a small partitioned area where we keep the computers and the ledger books. We don’t really have visitors often, mostly just drivers and delivery guys. We eat lunch together sitting on some crates or at the one small table we have. It’s a gritty environment, but it’s what we know. There’s a certain rhythm to life in Kalher, with the constant loading and unloading. We’ve been here long enough that we don’t even notice the noise anymore. It’s a long way from the fancy parts of Mumbai, but we prefer being where the real work happens. It’s just us, the chains, and the daily grind of the warehouse. We don't have a website or anything fancy, we just do our job and go home.
