Rakesh Spices

We’ve been here at Rakesh Spices for a while now. Our spot is right in the Riico Industrial Area in Khushkhera. If you know the main road in Ghatal, we’re just down from the bus stand. It gets really busy around here with all the buses coming and going, but we like the energy. We deal with all kinds of spices every day. It’s dusty work sometimes, grinding things down and getting everything packed up right. We don't have a fancy office or anything like that. Just a workspace where we get things done. Mostly, we're busy making sure the quality is what it should be. People around here know where to find us if they need something for their cooking. We started small and just kept at it day by day. It’s a lot of manual labor, checking the sacks of seeds and powders. Sometimes the smell of the chilies gets a bit strong in the afternoon, but you get used to it. We try to keep things organized, though in an industrial area, there’s always something happening outside the door. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. We’ve seen the area change a bit over the years, more trucks and more people moving through Ghatal. We just stay focused on the spices. If you're passing the bus stand, you might see us working away. We don't spend much time on the computer, usually we're out on the floor or talking to the delivery guys. It's just a regular business.
