Our shop is right behind Ramphal Cinema Hall. It’s Shop Number 2, right in the middle of the Sabji Mandi area. It gets really crowded in the mornings when everyone is out getting their vegetables. You have to watch where you step because of the carts and the mud if it rained. We’ve been in this spot for quite some time. It’s not a large place, but we pack a lot into it. Sometimes the smell of the market is quite strong, especially when the weather is hot and things have been sitting out. We deal with whatever customers need that day. People stop in while they are doing their grocery shopping. We usually have the radio playing in the background, mostly just the local news or songs. It’s a bit noisy with the cinema nearby and all the vendors shouting their prices. We don't have any shiny displays or bright lights. Just wooden shelves and the stuff we sell. Most of our regulars know us by name. We spend a lot of time just chatting with folks who pass by. It feels like a community. We try to keep things simple. If we don’t have something, we tell you straight. We don’t try to act like we are bigger than we are. It’s just a local shop in a busy market. The floor is old concrete and the paint is peeling a bit near the door. But it works for us. We open early and stay until the market slows down.
