Soni Garments is right in the middle of Khai Ka Bazer inside the Sarafa Market in Bhander. It’s a very old part of town and the streets are quite narrow. You really have to know where you are going to find us. We sell all kinds of clothes for the local families. The shop is small and the racks are usually packed pretty tight. We get new stock every couple of weeks, so there is always something different to look at. The market gets very crowded during the festivals, and that is when we are the busiest. My family has been doing this for a long time. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just walk in when they are out shopping for groceries or jewelry nearby. Sometimes we sit on the small stools out front when things are quiet. The building is old and sometimes the roof leaks a bit when it rains hard, but we’ve fixed it as best as we can. We try to keep prices fair because we know everyone in the village. It is a simple life running a garment shop in Bhander. We know most of our customers by name and what size their kids wear. It’s not a fancy boutique with air conditioning. Just a regular shop with fans and a lot of colorful fabric. We stay open until the market closes at night and the street lights come on. It is a lot of standing around, but we like it.
