Sabhitri General Store

In the middle of Dabra, over in the Jabaharganj area, you will find Sabhitri General Store. Gwalior can be a very busy place, but our little corner feels more like a community spot. We have been sitting here in Jabaharganj for quite some time now, and the shop has seen many seasons. I mostly stock the essentials like flour, sugar, and tea leaves. The glass jars on the front counter are usually filled with different kinds of candies and toffees for the school children who pass by in the afternoon. It gets a bit loud when the kids arrive, but I don't mind the noise. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, and the wooden counter is worn down where people rest their elbows, but it serves its purpose. I keep a close eye on what people are asking for so I can make sure to have it next time. If someone needs a specific brand of soap or a certain type of dal, I try to get it in the next delivery. It's a lot of manual work, lifting heavy sacks and stacking boxes, but it keeps me busy. The street outside is often dusty, so I have to sweep the floor a few times a day to keep things tidy. We don't have a website or any fancy marketing. If you live nearby, you know we are here. It's just a regular life running a store for the town.
