Madhu General Store

Madhu General Store is located on Sarkari Hospital Road in Dabra. It’s a busy little stretch of road, and we are right in the middle of it all. Our shop isn't very large, so we have to use every inch of wall space for shelving. We sell a lot of small household items, like soaps, pens, and packets of biscuits. The hospital is just down the way, so we get people stopping in for things they forgot to bring from home. The floor is tiled, but it’s gotten a bit worn down over the years from all the foot traffic. We usually keep the radio playing softly in the background to pass the time between visitors. There’s a big tree across the street that provides a little bit of shade, but it still gets plenty warm inside the shop. We don’t have a fancy computer system or anything; we just know the prices and write things down when we need to. The neighborhood around here in Gwalior is quite lively, and there’s always someone stopping by to chat for a minute about the weather or the news. We spend a lot of time dusting the shelves because the road outside can get pretty dry and windy during the day. It’s a simple place with a simple way of doing things. We open up in the morning, stay until late, and then head home to do it all again. It's just a regular part of life here.
