Gungun Tea Sales

Gungun Tea Sales is located right on Jhansi Road in Dabra. If you walk past, you can usually smell the dry tea leaves before you even see the shop itself. We deal mostly in different kinds of tea, and the back of the shop is full of big jute sacks that we stack up high. The location is right there in Gwalior district, so we get a lot of people stopping by who are traveling between towns. The shelves are mostly lined with different grades of tea, from the fine dust to the larger leaves. We spend our time weighing things out on the old scale and packing them into smaller bags for people to take home. The floor is concrete and stays a bit cool even when the Gwalior sun is beating down on the road outside. We don't have any fancy displays or bright signs, just the tea and some basic equipment for the business. Sometimes we make a pot for ourselves in the back room, and the smell fills the whole place up. It’s a quiet kind of work, mostly. We listen to the radio sometimes, or just talk to the people who come in to buy their monthly supply of tea. The traffic on Jhansi Road is constant and loud, but inside it’s mostly just the sound of the bags being moved around. I guess we’ve been at this spot in Dabra for a long time now, and the routine stays pretty much the same every day.
