Sr Granites & Marbles

Sr Granites & Marbles is situated on P P Road, right beside the Annapurna Theatre. It’s a loud spot, especially when a new movie is playing and the crowds are gathered next door. At 53-4-56, we deal with both granite and marble, which keep us pretty busy throughout the week. Marble is a bit softer, so we have to be extra careful with those slabs compared to the granite. We’ve got a mix of locals and builders coming in throughout the day. Some people just wander in because they were waiting for a movie to start and saw the stones. We don’t mind. It’s good to have people looking at the stock. The road outside is always full of traffic, so getting the delivery trucks in and out of our gate can be a real headache. We have to time it just right or we block the whole street. The shop itself is mostly just a place to store tools and have a bit of shade. Most of the real work happens out in the open where we can see the stones properly. We have some pieces that are really dark and others that are almost white. It’s interesting to see what different people pick. We just keep the slabs lined up and help out whoever stops by. It’s a steady life here beside the theater.
