Matha Power Press

Matha Power Press is located right on P.P. Road. It’s not a very long road, but it’s where we’ve set up our machines. The main thing you notice when you walk in is the sound. Power presses aren't quiet, and when they are running, you can feel the vibration in the floor. It’s a very physical place to work. We have different machines lined up, and there’s always a bit of oil on the floor no matter how much we clean. We don’t have a big office or anything. Most of our time is spent right there on the shop floor, keeping an eye on the presses and making sure the metal is being handled right. We’ve got a small crew of guys who have been doing this for years. We don’t talk much while the machines are going because you can’t hear anything anyway. We take our breaks outside on the side of the road just to get some quiet for a few minutes. P.P. Road has its share of dust and traffic, but it’s a good spot for what we do. We don't try to make the place look like a showroom. It’s a factory, plain and simple. We get the orders, we run the machines, and we ship the parts out. It’s a straightforward way to make a living, and we’ve been at it for quite a while now. We just focus on the steel and the rhythm.
