Jnanananda Retina Foundation Pvt Ltd is located in the Mayur Building on the Town Railway Station Road. Being so close to the station means there is a constant flow of people coming and going. You can hear the trains blowing their whistles all day long, which is something you just get used to after a while. Our office is in a busy commercial building, so there are always other businesses and shops around us. Most people who come to see us are looking for help with their eyes, specifically retina issues. We have various machines for testing and a small waiting area that usually has a few people sitting and waiting their turn. It’s not a very big place, but we try to keep it organized. The walk from the railway station is short, so it’s easy for patients coming in from the nearby villages. We don’t have any fancy decorations on the walls, just the necessary medical charts and some chairs. The staff here is pretty small, and we’ve all been together for several years now. We spend the day going through appointments and explaining things to patients who are often worried about their sight. It gets a bit crowded on market days because of the location, but we just keep the door closed and focus on the work. It’s a very specialized kind of place, but we keep the atmosphere plain and simple. We usually lock up around six.
