Chandu Maize Forming

Chandu Maize Forming is based out of 6-521 in Arikatota, which is part of Gorla Seetharampuram. It’s a rural spot where everyone knows each other’s business. We focus on maize because that’s what grows well in this soil. It’s a lot of physical labor, and my back definitely feels it at the end of the week. We started this because we wanted to work for ourselves instead of traveling to the city for jobs. The area is pretty quiet, except for the sounds of the farm equipment now and then. We don't have a big office; mostly we just meet people out in the yard or near the storage bins. Dealing with the grain takes up all our time, from planting to drying it out properly. Sometimes the birds get more of the crop than we’d like, but that’s farming. We are just a local family trying to make a go of it. We don't have a marketing team or a strategy. We just look at the sky, check the stalks, and do what needs to be done. It’s honest work, even if it’s not always easy. People come from the surrounding villages to talk trade with us. We’ve been at this for a few seasons now and learned a lot by just doing it. If you find yourself in Arikatota, you’ll see our place easily enough. We are usually around if the sun is up.
