Varsha Fancy & Gift Collection

Varsha Fancy & Gift Collection is our small business over in the Nagori Garden area. It’s a nice part of town, and we’ve been part of the neighborhood for several seasons now. The shop is filled with a lot of fancy items, which mostly means things like jewelry boxes, bangles, and decorative pieces for the home. We also have a section for gift items because people around here are always going to functions or parties. The space isn't very big, so we have to use every inch of the walls for display. I usually spend my time dusting the glass cases or talking to the neighbors who stop by for a chat. Nagori Garden has a lot of trees, so it feels a bit cooler here than in the main market. Sometimes my daughter comes in to help me arrange the new arrivals on the shelves. We don’t have a big corporate sign or anything, just a simple board above the door. Most of our customers come from the houses nearby. They know us and we know what they usually like to buy. It’s a quiet life, really. We open up late in the morning and stay until the evening lights come on. Dealing with all the small items can be tedious when it's time to count the stock, but it's okay. We’ve made a lot of friends through the shop over the years. It’s just a simple place where you can find a little something for a special occasion without a lot of fuss. I usually keep a flask of tea behind the counter for when it gets slow in the mid-afternoon.
