Smart Traders

We are over in Bhopalganj on Mahila Ashram Road. It’s a fairly quiet area compared to the main markets, but we stay busy enough. We trade in a variety of goods, so the shop always looks a bit different depending on the month. One day it might be filled with sacks, and the next it’s mostly small boxes. We have a small desk where we do all the paperwork, and it’s usually covered in notes and old receipts. We don’t have a big staff, so we all end up doing a bit of everything, from sweeping the floor to talking to the suppliers. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we never seem to find the time to get it done. We prefer just getting the work finished. People from the neighborhood drop in quite a bit, sometimes just to say hello. We don't use any of those big marketing strategies. We just keep our doors open and try to have what people are looking for. The road outside is a bit narrow, so loading the trucks can be a challenge. We’ve learned to be quick about it. It’s a basic setup, nothing too fancy or modern. We just show up every morning, unlock the shutters, and see what the day brings. It’s honest work and we like the people we deal with around here. There is always a bit of dust on the shelves from the street outside.
