Sikhwal Sweets

Sikhwal Sweets is right on the Bus Stand Road near the Bhilwara Textile Market. It’s a spot where you get a mix of travelers and local workers from the cloth shops. We open the shutters quite early when the first buses start arriving. The morning is usually spent cleaning the counters and getting the first round of snacks ready. We have these glass cases filled with different kinds of barfi and gulab jamun. The road outside is always crowded with rickshaws and people carrying heavy bags. It can get pretty loud with all the horns and people talking. We don't have any fancy signs or decorations, just the name of the shop and the sweets on display. Our kitchen is at the back where we have the large burners going for most of the day. It gets very hot back there, so we take turns standing near the front to get some air. We use a lot of local milk and ingredients that get delivered every morning. Sometimes the delivery is late and we have to scramble to get things started. We don't have a big management team, just us family members and a few helpers. We just focus on making enough for the day and keeping the place decent for the people who stop by for a quick bite before catching their next bus.
