Shyam Book Depot

We are located near College Road, right by the Lnt Temple. Since we are so close to the college area, we see a lot of students coming through every day. The temple nearby means there’s often a bit of music or chanting in the background, which is actually quite nice. Our shop, Shyam Book Depot, isn't very large, so we have to be careful about how we stack things so nothing falls over. We've been here for a good while, and the locals know us pretty well. We don't put on any airs or pretend to be more than we are. It’s a basic shop with wooden counters and shelves that have seen better days. We stay busy during the start of the terms when everyone needs their supplies at once. The rest of the time, it’s a bit more relaxed. We handle the sales ourselves and don't have any complicated systems. If you need something, you just ask, and we’ll go find it for you. The floor is a bit uneven, and the ceiling fan makes a bit of noise, but it’s a comfortable place for us. We like being part of the daily life on College Road. It feels good to be a familiar spot that people can rely on when they’re passing by. We keep the shop open late during exam times because we know students might need things last minute.
