Shri Mahesh Trading Company

Shri Mahesh Trading Company is on Pur Road near the LNT Road intersection. This area is mostly for warehouses and bigger shops. We do trading here, which means a lot of heavy lifting and moving boxes around. The space is large with a high tin roof. It gets very loud when it rains. I have a small desk near the front where I keep my papers and a telephone. Most of my day is spent talking to drivers and checking off lists. It’s dusty work because of all the trucks moving on LNT Road. My clothes are always covered in a fine layer of grit by the end of the day. We deal with various goods that people in the area need for their businesses. I have a couple of helpers who do the loading. They are good guys. We sit together and have lunch in the back. The food is usually something my wife packed in a steel tiffin. I’ve been working on Pur Road for a long time. I’ve seen the shops change, but our place stays pretty much the same. We don’t have fancy lights or a showroom. It’s just a place of work. I like the routine of it. It keeps me busy and I know the local tradesmen well. My father started this and I just kept it going. It is hard work but it pays the bills.
