Radhey Plastic is situated inside the Jegatiya Complex in the New Cloth Market. It’s a big building and we are just one of many shops. We sell all kinds of plastic items like buckets, bins, and stools. The shop is packed from floor to ceiling. I have things hanging from the rafters too. It’s a bit of a maze inside. I have to be careful when I move around so I don’t knock anything over. The New Cloth Market is always full of people and noise. You can hear the cloth merchants bargaining next door. I’ve been in the Jegatiya Complex for several years. It’s a solid building but it gets very hot in the summer because there isn’t much breeze. I have a small fan on my desk that I keep running all day. My customers are mostly local people or other small shop owners. I spend a lot of time organizing the stock. Plastic items are light but they take up so much space. I use a small calculator for all the bills. I don't use a computer. I like the old way of doing things. I close the shop in the evening and walk to the bus stop. It’s a long day but I’m used to it now. It’s just how life is. Sometimes my wife brings me a snack in the afternoon. We make do with what we have.
