Just For U

Just For U is sitting right at Veer Sawarkar Chowk on Pur Road. It’s a very busy intersection, so there is always some kind of commotion happening right outside my window. I spend a lot of my time just watching the cars and bikes go by while I wait for people to stop in. The shop is packed with all kinds of items, mostly things people buy as gifts or little treats for themselves. I have shelves lining every single wall from top to bottom. A few of the lightbulbs in the back have gone dim, which makes that part of the store look a bit dark, but I’ll get around to changing them eventually. It’s a cozy space, though it feels a bit cramped when we get new deliveries. I’m always moving boxes around just to make a path. Pur Road never seems to sleep. The guy from the tea shop next door usually brings me a cup in the morning. The floor is made of old tiles and there is a crack near the door that I covered with a small rug. Most people don’t even see it. It’s not a high-end boutique, just a local spot to find a nice gift. I still write out all the receipts by hand in a ledger. It feels more natural that way. The door sticks a bit when it gets humid, so you have to give it a good pull to get inside.
