Jodhpur Namkeen

We've been here on Pur Road for a while now. It's usually busy with cars going by. We set up the shop early because people start coming in for their morning snacks. Jodhpur Namkeen isn't anything fancy, just a place where you get what you need. My hands usually smell like spices by noon. We keep the counters clean, or try to, anyway. Some days it’s just me here, other days the family helps out. People ask why we don't move to a bigger spot but this corner works for us. It’s a bit dusty outside sometimes, but that’s just how the road is. We pack the stuff in those plastic bags and make sure they're sealed tight. Most folks stop their bikes, grab a packet, and keep going. I like seeing the regulars who come every Tuesday. It’s a lot of work frying things and keeping the stock fresh, but it fills the day. Sometimes the tea stall next door brings over a cup and we just sit for a minute. If you’re driving down toward the main highway, you’ll see our sign. It’s been there forever. We don't do much advertising because people around here already know where we are. It’s just honest work, making snacks that people like to munch on while they’re working or sitting at home. We just keep things going as they are without making a big deal of it.
