Jodhpur Misthan Bhandar

Jodhpur Misthan Bhandar is located right near the Trimurti Circle in Shahpura. It’s a good spot because everyone passes through the circle at some point. The shop has been here for a while, and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we’re too busy for that. We make the mawa and the laddoos fresh every day. You can see the steam coming off the milk in the mornings. It’s a lot of stirring, which makes my arms ache by the end of the shift. We get a lot of travelers who stop their cars at the circle just to grab a box of something sweet for their families. The floor is made of old stone and it stays cool even when it’s boiling hot outside. We don't have a lot of help, just a couple of local boys who are learning the trade. Sometimes we run out of certain things by the afternoon, and people get a bit annoyed, but we only make what we can handle. I like sitting on the stool by the cash box and watching the traffic go around the circle. It’s a simple life. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just make the sweets, put them in the boxes, and hope the customers enjoy them when they get home. It’s been this way for years and we’re fine with that daily routine.
