About Jain Bikaneri House – Food & Beverages in Bhilwara
Station Road is a noisy place to have a shop, but Jain Bikaneri House has been here through it all. You can hear the train whistles all day long from the front door. We keep the shelves stocked with all the usual Bikaneri snacks. It gets crowded when a big train arrives and everyone wants something to eat for their journey. I usually spend most of my morning checking the batches. It’s not a big place, just enough room for the counters and a few people to stand. We don’t have fancy air conditioning, just the ceiling fans that have been running since I can remember. Sometimes the dust from the street gets in, so we are always wiping things down. My cousin helps with the accounts when he’s not busy. We’ve seen the buildings around us change a lot over the years, but our little spot stays the same. People come in for a quick bite before they catch their bus or train. I like the bustle of the station, even if it gets a bit much sometimes. We try to keep things simple and just focus on the food. There’s no point in making things complicated. If the snacks are good, people come back. That’s how it’s always been for us here. We just stay open until the last big train of the night passes by. It's a long day but we are used to it by now.
