Our mill is located at 369 Session Court Road. Being so close to the court means we see a lot of lawyers and people in suits walking by, which is a big contrast to how we look in our work clothes. Inside Gayatri Spinners Limited, it’s all about the yarn and the spinning machines. The air is always filled with a bit of cotton dust, no matter how much we clean. It’s a loud place to work, so you get used to the constant rhythm of the equipment. We have different shifts running to keep things going, so there’s almost always someone here. The office part of the building is just a few desks near the main entrance where we handle the orders and the payroll. We’ve got an old wooden cabinet that holds all our files from the last decade. It’s not a fancy corporate setup, just a place where we do the work. The court road can be a nightmare for parking, so most of us try to get here early. During the lunch break, we usually sit near the back where it's a bit quieter. We talk about the machines, the weather, or the news from the court. It’s a steady job that requires a lot of attention to detail so the threads don't break. We just take it one day at a time and try to keep the machines running smooth so we can finish the orders.
