If you head down Pur Road and get to where it meets Lnt Road, that is where Card Emporium is. It’s an older building, but it does the job. We deal with cards, mostly for weddings and big parties. The air inside the shop always smells like heavy paper and fresh ink. I’ve grown to like it, though some visitors find it a bit strong. The shelves are completely covered in samples. Some of them have been there so long they’ve started to yellow at the edges, but I keep them anyway just in case. The noise from the traffic on Lnt Road is something you just get used to. You hear the horns and the buses all day long. My main counter is made of dark wood and it’s got a few coffee stains that won't come out. I try to stay organized, but when we get a bunch of big orders at once, the whole place turns into a bit of a mess. There are usually little scraps of paper on the floor. My hands usually have a bit of blue or black ink on them by the time I go home. It’s a small place, but we have been at this intersection for a long time. People know to come here when they need something printed. Sometimes the machine in the back gets jammed and I have to fix it myself. It’s a simple life. No big corporate offices, just us and the paper.
