Jutebag Enterprises

Working out of Shop No. 2 in the Mmm Complex has its ups and downs. Being right near the Allahabad Bank in Smriti Nagar means there is always a lot of foot traffic. People are always heading to the bank or coming out, and they often stop to peek into Jutebag Enterprises. It’s a small shop, but we pack a lot of stuff into it. Jute is messy work sometimes, with the fibers getting everywhere, but it’s what we do. The Mmm Complex is an older building, so it has that lived-in feel to it. We keep the bags stacked up against the walls. Some days it’s quiet and we just sit and sort through the inventory, and other days three customers come in at once and it gets a bit cramped. We don’t have fancy displays or anything. We just put the bags where they fit. The neighbors are nice, and we usually know who is coming and going. It feels like a little community here in Smriti Nagar. You get used to the sounds of the street and the bank customers chatting outside. We’ve been here for a while, so the shop feels like a second home to most of us. It’s just a regular local business, nothing more and nothing less. We just keep our heads down and handle the orders as they come. There is always a lot of dust from the fabric, but we just sweep it up and keep going.
