Robust Steels

Our yard is right near the BSP Boys School in Sector 11, so you can always hear the kids during their break times. Bhilai is a steel town, through and through, and Robust Steels is just one of those places where the work involves moving heavy loads. The dust from the road gets everywhere, especially in the summer when everything is dry. We spend a lot of time loading and unloading trucks. The metal gets really hot to touch if it sits in the sun for too long. We have a small office space, but mostly we are out back where the inventory is. It is not a glamorous job. My hands are usually stained with rust or grit. Sometimes the paperwork gets a bit messy when we are busy, but we keep track of what’s coming in and what’s going out. The district here, Durg, is always humming with industrial stuff. You get used to the smell of iron and the sound of metal hitting metal. We don’t really do anything besides sell and move steel. It’s what the town does. Some days are slow and we just sit around the fan, and other days the trucks are lined up all the way down Ward No. 32. We just keep our heads down and get the orders filled. It's basic work for people who need materials for their projects. We just want to get the loading done right.
