Our little spot is Shop No. 34, and it’s been that way for a good while. S P Exports is tucked away among a bunch of other shops, so you might miss it if you aren't looking closely. It’s not a huge space, but we make the most of what we have. Most days start with opening up the shutters and getting the lights on. We deal with various export items, mostly whatever is in demand or what our regular contacts need. It gets a bit cramped inside when a new shipment arrives, and boxes end up stacked almost to the ceiling. We don't really do the whole corporate image thing. Most of the time, I'm just wearing a plain shirt and dealing with paperwork at a desk that has seen better days. Customers come by, we talk, maybe have some tea, and handle the business. It’s a straightforward setup. Sometimes the delivery guys get lost looking for the specific shop number, but once they find us, it’s all good. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who know the routine. The neighborhood is lively, which makes the days go by faster. We focus on getting the goods packed right and sent out on time. There isn't much more to it than that. It’s just us running a shop and making sure things move along as they should. We have been here for a long time and the neighbors are all friendly people who run similar small businesses.
