Bhilai Steel Plant

We work in the Purchase Department at the Bhilai Steel Plant. It’s a massive place, and being part of the internal workings means we see a lot of the logistical side of things. Our office is tucked away within the plant grounds, where we spend the day dealing with suppliers and sorting out orders. It’s an industrial environment, so there is always a bit of dust and the sound of heavy machinery in the distance. We aren't here to look pretty; we’re here to make sure the plant has what it needs to keep running. It’s a lot of paperwork and checking specifications. We talk to a lot of different vendors every single day. Some days are more hectic than others, especially when a big shipment is due or something is running late. We have a routine that we try to stick to, but in a place this big, things can change pretty fast. We don't have a fancy reception area. It’s just desks, computers, and a lot of filing cabinets. Most people who come to see us are here for business, so we keep things direct and to the point. It’s a vital part of the operation, even if it’s mostly just us behind desks. We’ve been doing this for years, and we know the layout of the plant like the back of our hands. It's just a steady job in a big industrial town.
