You can find us at J 22 inside the Sujata Shopping Center on Navghar Road. It is a busy place where there is always someone carrying something heavy through the corridors. Our spot is filled with different types of steel and metal pieces. It is very loud in here because when the metal hits the floor or gets moved it makes a big ringing sound. The air smells a bit like iron and dust most of the time. We don't have much room for people to sit down because the racks take up all the space from the floor to the ceiling. Navghar Road is a main path for trucks so there is always a lot of movement outside the shopping center. We spend our mornings checking the stock that came in and our afternoons cutting things to size or loading them for customers. The floor is made of rough concrete and it has some scratches from the heavy steel. We wear thick gloves because the edges can be sharp and you have to be careful how you grab things. It is hard work and by the end of the day our clothes are usually pretty dirty. We don't have any sales pitch or a fancy showroom, just the materials and the tools we use to manage them. It is a tough but honest way to spend the day. We just finish our orders and lock the shutters.
